                WCCI 100.3 FM News Director & On-Air Personality


Job Description:
News Director & On-Air Personality If you're an early riser and ready to go to work each day with passion,

Job Duties:
Along with being the morning on air personality also responsible for compiling, writing, and delivering news,
information & weather you must be able to engineer and operate a control board, as well as phone system &
production equipment. Sports play by play available but not
a requirement of the position.

Specific Skill Requirements and Essential Job Functions:
Job entails covering local and area news, including press conferences, public meetings, community events,
fundraisers and more. Telephone and in-person interviews are a priority, with the focus on putting local
voices on the air and on the web. Other duties include assisting with commercial recording and audio
production, and representing the radio stations throughout the community. Skills necessary: Writing and
speaking skills are essential. Additional training will be provided. Familiarity with computer and broadcast
equipment. Ability to record and edit interviews and commercial recordings. On-air broadcast experience
preferred. Ability to represent the stations at community events and activities.

Job Talents:
Announce musical selections, station breaks, commercials, or public service information, and accept requests
from listening audience.

Comment on music and other matters, such as weather or traffic conditions.

Identify stations, and introduce or close shows, using memorized or read scripts, and/or ad-libs. Operate
control consoles.
Prepare and deliver news, sports, and/or weather reports, gathering and rewriting material so that it will
convey required information and fit specific time slots.

Provide commentary and conduct interviews during sporting events, parades, conventions,   and other
events.

Read news flashes to inform audiences of important events. Record commercials for later  broadcast.
Study background information in order to prepare for programs or interviews.
